Jude's big adventure this past week was going to the shoe store with Marcy. Since he is using walking as his main way of moving around now he needed some shoes so he could walk outside in the slush and snow, and the little leather Robeez just didn't cut it. Above is the photo from the shoe store with Jude in his new shoes. It is going to take him some time to get used to them, so far when we put them on he resorts back to crawling - here is a cute video of Jude struggling a little after he got home from the store. I am sure he will get used to them with some practice. Incidentally, shoes is another word he has started saying this week (probably not a coincidence).
Jude is imitating us more and more and it is really cute. When Marcy is doing laundry he likes to walk around carrying a piece of random clothing, and it is better when the clothing is his, otherwise he trips. He has just started being interested in keys. When Marcy gets home now he likes to take the keys and pretends to put them in the door and turn them. Also, if one of us becomes animated in a conversation around Jude, he will raise his voice to try and join in.
One of Jude's big outings for the week was to the Children's Museum with Marcy's friend Michelle and her son Blake. We are members of the Children's Museum and it is one of Jude's favorite places. The photo above was taken in the toddler area.
